Crested Hawk

Crested Hawks generally feed on large insects, such as locusts, grasshoppers and cicadas, but will also take up the offer of small rodents and lizards.

This bird is one of two pair that hang around the gum trees on my property. In this shot it is perched atop the clothes line eyeing off my daughters pet Bearded Dragon in his outside enclosure.
