Most of Queensland north of Capricorn is criss-crossed with narrow gauge rail lines dedicated for the use of cane trains.

Sugar cane cultivation is a major industry for much of coastal North Queensland, with some towns completely dedicated to the industry and housing large sugar mills that export World wide.

To facilitate transporting the harvest to the sugar mills thousands of kilometres of rail line have been laid to enable he farmers to easily transport their raw product to the mill. In my photo the rail line is surrounded by cane fields.
